Visit Churchill Downs
The Kentucky Derby is one of the biggest sporting events of the year, and we are blessed that it takes place in Kentucky. Around 150,000 spectators visit Churchill Downs to witness the race while drinking iconic mint juleps. The highly anticipated 2-minute race is definitely one for the bucket list.
Of course, this event only takes place once a year, so it is unlikely that you happen to visit when it’s going on. However, we advise visiting Churchill Downs and its museum to take in the almost 150-year history of the Kentucky Derby.
Explore Louisville
While Downtown Louisville is known for bourbon and racing, it offers much more. There are excellent exhibitions and museums such as the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, the KMAC Museum, and the Frazier History Museum are all within the area. You just have to travel around the historic neighborhoods and also experience the famous nightlife!
