What is the Kentucky Derby?

Held on the first Saturday of May every year at the Churchill Downs, the Derby fields the 20 best horses from the Road to the Kentucky Derby which consists of 35 races where they compete to enter the prestigious Derby and its $2 million prize purse.

Did you know that it is also the longest-running sporting event in the United States? The Kentucky Derby is enriched with history with the first-ever taking place on May 17th, 1875!
